This flat bread is so tasty and so easy to make. Here’s the basic recipe:
Whisk together 1 cup of chick pea flour with 1 cup of water and let sit while you heat a 9″ skillet in a 425 degree oven. (The skillet should be well seasoned and lightly oiled.) When the pan is hot, add the batter then broil on high for about 7 minutes until it gets a bit blistery.
Add any or all of these to the batter for exceptional taste (I usually add all):
- 2 T Nutritional Yeast
- 2 T Olive Oil
- small handful of fresh or dried herbs (pictured here: fresh rosemary and onion tops)
- salt and pepper to taste or coarsely ground salt on top
